Brandvalley Wind Farm Facility

Brandvalley

Brandvalley Wind Farm is a 140 MW wind energy project located near Matjiesfontein on the border of South Africa’s Western Cape and Northern Cape provinces. The project was originally developed by G7 Renewable Energies, a Cape Town-based independent power producer (IPP) and renewable energy developer.

The wind farm comprises 32 wind turbines and exports electricity via the Bon Espirange Substation, which connects to the Komsberg Main Transmission Substation.

Originally developed by G7 Renewable Energies, Brandvalley achieved legal close in 2022 and financial close on 24 February 2023 under Bid Window 5 of South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP).

The project reached Commercial Operation Date (COD) in April 2025 and is now generating renewable electricity for the South African grid.
