Our Projects

Renewable energy experts since 2008

Since 2008, G7 Renewable Energies has originated, developed and advanced utility-scale renewable energy projects across South Africa, including wind, solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

With more than 17 years of experience in the South African renewable energy market, G7 has successfully developed and realised over 1 GW of renewable energy capacity that has either reached construction or achieved commercial operation. Today, G7 maintains a strong portfolio of renewable energy assets, including:

Projects under G7 ownership and construction (483 MW):

  • The 150 MW Karreebosch wind energy project
  • The 333 MW Oya hybrid project comprising wind, solar PV and battery energy storage

Development pipeline (7+ GW):

  • A diversified portfolio of wind, solar PV and battery energy storage projects at various stages of development across South Africa.

G7’s track record is further demonstrated by projects that were originated and developed by G7 and have subsequently been acquired by other independent power producers (IPPs), including:

  • 108 MW currently under construction
  • 435 MW in commercial operation

These projects highlight G7’s proven capability to identify, originate, permit, develop and advance utility-scale renewable energy projects from early-stage development through to construction and operation.
