Kai Howie

General Counsel

Kai is an admitted attorney with a number of years’ experience in the renewable energy industry. During this time, he has held a number of leadership roles within the industry, including as chairman of the SAWEA/SAPVIA Policy and Markets working group where he has lead and contributed to industry’s approach to market liberalisation, grid constraints and other policy matters.

Kai leverages his policy and regulatory insights in fulfilling his responsibilities at G7, which encompass a wide range of activities where he has demonstrated expertise, including PPA development, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, energy project development, construction and operations, as well as dispute resolution.

Kai holds a LLB from the University of Stellenbosch.

Sophie Hayes

Senior Legal Counsel

Sophie Hayes joined G7 in 2023 as Project Legal Counsel, and was promoted to Senior Project Legal Counsel in 2025. She brings a wealth of experience gained from her consulting work with utility-scale off-takers on their procurement strategies and programs. She has counselled numerous large corporations on their cross-border activities in Africa. Before her role at G7, Sophie made significant contributions while working at some of South Africa’s most prominent corporate law firms. Her specialization revolved around guiding major corporations in their African operations, with a particular focus on Francophone Africa.

Sophie’s expertise spans a diverse range of areas, including corporate law, infrastructure, market structures, and policy. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Assas-Paris II in France and is a qualified lawyer at the Paris Bar.

Vanessa Mohlala

Legal Counsel

Vanessa Mohlala joined the G7 team in 2024 as Junior Legal Counsel and was promoted to Legal Counsel in 2025. Vanessa has a strong educational background and practical experience in various areas of law. She obtained her LLB from Stellenbosch University in 2020 and was admitted as an attorney in 2023. She is currently pursuing a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree at the University of Stellenbosch.

Nico Fourie

Nico Fourie

Head of Project Finance

Nico Fourie joined G7 in 2023 in the role of Head of Project Finance. Nico’s journey in the renewable energy sector commenced in 2018, and since then, he has consistently expanded his knowledge and expertise in this ever-evolving field. Nico completed his accounting articles in Johannesburg, South Africa, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2015. After gaining valuable business experience internationally, he relocated to Cape Town, where he worked on several local renewable energy projects, amongst others, the Dorper and Noblesfontein Wind Farms. He has experience in overseeing the financial operations of Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement (REIPPP) Round 4 wind projects for a prominent multinational energy company.

Project Accountant - Karreebosch Wind Farm

Tema Nkosi is Project Accountant for G7’s Karreebosch Wind Farm. With more than a decade of experience in industries such as audit, technology, warehousing, and logistics, Tema brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of South Africa.

Errowayne Parson

Errowayne Parson

Financial Accountant

Errowayne Parson is a finance professional with expertise in accounting, tax, auditing, financial reporting, forecasting, payroll, and internal controls. He holds a Bachelor’s in Accounting from Stellenbosch University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences from the University of South Africa (UNISA), with specialisations in Accounting, Auditing, Tax, and Management Accounting. 

Asiphumeze Magadla

Asiphumeze Magadla

Junior Accountant

Asiphumeze Magadla works in the Finance team as a Junior Accountant. She has a strong foundation in financial accounting and internal auditing. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Accounting at the University of South Africa, building on prior qualifications in Internal Auditing from Tshwane University of Technology (BTech) and Vaal University of Technology (National Diploma).
