Founded in 2008, a privately-owned energy company, G7 has been at the forefront of South Africa’s burgeoning renewable energy industry. We have championed the adoption and development of renewable technologies and pride ourselves on being pioneers in the formation of a vibrant industry that is making a significant contribution to the South African economy.
The G7 team anticipated the signifcant competition that would arise as a result of the South African government’s focus on renewable energies. Due to our in-depth knowledge and global expertise, G7’s primary focus has been on developing best-in-class projects that are able to withstand economic pressure thanks to our prioritisation of optimum wind resources. To date, G7 has developed a comprehensive pipeline of wind projects, totalling in excess of 1 GW, across the country.
Members of the G7 team possess the full range of skills and expertise necessary to successfully develop an efficient and profitable wind farm in South Africa. In addition, we have significant international experience engineering and developing large scale projects; specialist expertise in the operation and management of wind farms; as well as expert knowledge in wind mapping and atmospheric science.
